Rigsheet vs Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro's advertised entry price is not the tier most operators need. Basic runs $59–79/month and lacks QuickBooks sync and GPS, which makes Essentials at around $149/month the real floor — plus $35 per extra user. MAX runs $299–329.
Rigsheet is from $4/month — four tiers up to $39, flat, with no seat charge — and it is in development and not released. Housecall Pro ships today, has a large customer base, and is a more capable product in most dimensions that are not price.
The two things worth knowing before you commit: Basic-tier support is scheduled-call-only, which draws consistent criticism, and the Android app sits around 3.3★, which matters if your field team is on Android.

The tier trap
This is the part that catches people, and it is not unique to Housecall Pro — Jobber does the same thing.
The advertised price is real, and so is the omission. Basic lacks QuickBooks sync and GPS. For most operators those are not optional extras: bookkeeping integration is how the money gets accounted for, and GPS is how you know where your van is. So the honest comparison is against Essentials at ~$149, not against Basic at $59.
The full-feature trial is MAX-only, so what you evaluate for 14 days is not what you will be paying for at Essentials. That is worth knowing going in, because the trial will show you features you are about to lose.
The support complaint
Basic-tier support is scheduled-call-only, and the criticism writes itself — as one review put it: "If you hit a problem mid-job on a Monday morning, 'schedule a call' is a frustrating answer."
For a solo operator with a customer standing in front of them, that is not a minor service-level detail. It is the difference between a five-minute problem and a lost afternoon.
The seat charge compounds
| Team size | Housecall Pro Essentials (list) | Rigsheet Pro |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | ~$149/mo | $39/mo |
| 2 | ~$184/mo | $39/mo |
| 3 | ~$219/mo | $39/mo |
| 4 | ~$254/mo | $39/mo |
| 5 | ~$289/mo | $39/mo |
As with every per-seat model, the slope is the problem rather than the gap. Hiring your second person adds a software cost before it adds any revenue, which is why per-seat pricing is the single loudest complaint in the cleaning trade. The arithmetic.
Where Housecall Pro is clearly better
- It exists. Rigsheet does not yet.
- Depth. Marketing tools, reporting, price book, dispatching, consumer financing — a genuinely broad product.
- Scale. It runs businesses with real crews, and it has been hardened by them.
- Ecosystem. Integrations, partners, and a large user community that has already hit your problem.
- It covers every home-service trade. If you also do HVAC, plumbing or landscaping, Rigsheet is not for you at all.
Where Rigsheet is aimed
- One to three people. Explicitly not built for crews, which is why there is no seat charge to build.
- **Detailing and cleaning, with vehicle-size and home-size multipliers as defaults rather than something to remember. SUVs and MPVs are around 41 percent of detailing volume**, and a generic product has no reason to ship a multiplier for them. Why you are probably underquoting.
- Native on both platforms. Not a booking link, and not weak on one of them.
- Flat. $4 to $39, whatever your headcount.
How to decide
Housecall Pro if: you have a crew, you need depth and integrations, you cover trades beyond detailing and cleaning, or you need software this week.
Rigsheet if: you are one to three people, the seat charge is what you object to, you want trade-specific pricing defaults, and you can wait.
Every competitor compared, including where each one wins.

About Rigsheet
Rigsheet is a job app from Baker Ventures LLC for one-to-three-person mobile service businesses: mobile auto detailers and residential cleaners first. Scheduling with drive-time gaps, quotes with vehicle and home-size pricing, deposits, "on my way" texts, before and after photos, invoices, and automated review requests. Plans start at $4 a month, with unlimited jobs, customers, quotes and invoices on every tier and no per-user fees.
It exists because the alternatives charge a solo operator team prices. A one-van business is not a small version of a ten-truck business, and pricing built around seats and add-ons makes that mistake expensive. The pricing calculators and operator guides on this site are free and need no account.
Questions and answers
How much does Housecall Pro really cost?
List pricing runs roughly 59 to 79 dollars a month for Basic, 149 to 189 for Essentials and 299 to 329 for MAX, with extra users at about 35 dollars a month each. Basic lacks QuickBooks sync and GPS, so the real entry point for most operators is Essentials at around 149.
Is Housecall Pro good for a solo operator?
It is a capable product built for established home-service businesses. For one person the realistic tier is around 149 dollars a month, Basic-tier support is scheduled-call-only, and the Android app sits around 3.3 stars. Whether that is right for you depends on whether you need what the money buys.
What is wrong with the Housecall Pro Android app?
Its Android app rating sits around 3.3 stars, which is weak for a product at that price and a genuine consideration if your field team uses Android phones. The iOS app is better regarded.
Does Housecall Pro charge per user?
Yes, around 35 dollars a month per extra user on top of the plan. For a four-person business that is roughly 105 dollars a month in seat charges before the plan itself.
Does Housecall Pro have vehicle-size pricing for detailing?
Not as a built-in trade default. Housecall Pro covers many home-service trades generically, so vehicle-size and home-size multipliers are something you build into your own price book rather than something the product ships with.
