Jobber is a good product and it is priced for a business with a payroll. Around 4.6★ on Capterra across 1,400+ reviews, repeatedly praised for onboarding, genuinely strong at scheduling and integrations.
The problem for a solo operator is not quality, it is shape. The advertised Core tier is around $49/month, but QuickBooks sync and GPS sit above it, so the tier most operators actually need is Connect at around $129 — plus $29 per extra user.
So the question is not "what is better than Jobber." It is what costs less for the operator Jobber is not built for. For detailing that is QuoteIQ. For cleaning, ZenMaid. For either or both without a seat fee, Urable or Rigsheet.
If you have three or more people and need reporting and integrations, stay on Jobber. Nothing on this page beats it at that.

Where Jobber is genuinely better than all of them
- Reporting. Nothing on this page is close.
- Integrations. QuickBooks and a real ecosystem.
- Onboarding. Consistently praised, and it won recognition for setup speed and ease.
- Every trade. If you also do HVAC, plumbing or landscaping, none of the specialists on this page cover you.
- Scale. It runs businesses with actual crews, and has been hardened by them.

Two things we will not claim about our own product
$4 buys the core, not everything. Starter has no appointment cap and no per-seat charge, but customer texting starts at Solo ($29) — worth saying before the entry price does the persuading. ZenMaid's cheapest is $19/month, caps you at 40 appointments and adds $4 per seat on top.
Flat pricing is not category-unique. Urable includes unlimited users on every tier. Against Jobber and Housecall Pro the seat-fee difference is large and fully verifiable from their own pricing pages; against Urable it is not a differentiator at all, and the comparison there is price and trade coverage rather than model.

Before you switch, price the tier you need
The mistake that sends people from Jobber to Housecall Pro and back is comparing advertised entry tiers. Housecall Pro's Basic at $59–79 also lacks QuickBooks and GPS, which makes Essentials at around $149 its real floor, plus $35 per extra user. That is more expensive than what you are leaving.
