How much should you charge for auto detailing?
Two of the biggest sources in this industry publish materially different numbers — and knowing why is more useful than either range on its own.
For a full detail, Housecall Pro lists $150–$500+ while Jobber lists $200–$300+. For ceramic coating the gap is wider: $900–$2,500 versus $450–$2,000.

Housecall Pro also cites a 2026 analysis of 89 mobile operators putting the average basic package at $158, standard at $278 and premium at $443.
Why the two sources disagree
The gap is not error, it is scope. Ranges differ by whether the work is mobile or shop-based, by regional labour rates, by vehicle condition, and by what a "full detail" includes — which is not standardised. A heavily soiled truck interior and a lightly used sedan are the same line item and wildly different jobs.
The practical conclusion: do not price from a national range. Use it as a sanity check against your own numbers, and price from your cost and your market.
Price from your floor, not from the internet
Your floor is the hourly figure below which a job loses money once you have paid for product, travel, insurance and your own time. Work that out first, multiply by realistic hours for the job, and check the result against the ranges above. If your number lands far below them, you are probably underquoting — most commonly on large vehicles, which take far longer than the sedan the price list was built around.
